Collection: Randolph Hein
Randolph & Hein is dedicated to creating the finest quality hand-crafted furniture using old-world craftsmanship. Whether traditional or contemporary in design, exquisite craftsmanship and quality are inherent in each piece of furniture produced.
Founded in 1971, Randolph & Hein Inc. has evolved from a company specializing in faithful antique reproduction furniture to one that commissions and produces contemporary designs by prominent designers, which have become timeless furniture classics of the twenty-first century.
Randolph & Hein Textiles introduced its first collection of silk fabrics in 1978. This collection has since expanded to include a wide array of beautiful and unique textiles that have become staples in the exclusive repertoire of fabrics selected by prominent designers worldwide for high-end residential and hospitality projects. Randolph & Hein Furniture employs the finest materials and construction techniques, using fine hardwood and exotic veneers in both standard and custom furniture created to clients’ specifications. The product offerings include upholstered furniture, seating, case goods, mirrors, and other accent pieces. The finishing department applies a broad range of fine finishing techniques, including wood stains finished with hand-rubbed lacquers and varnishes, faux finishes, and various decorative painted techniques. Water gilding and oil gilding, executed using 18th-century European methods, are also available.
The upholstery department upholds the tradition of bench-made custom pieces, with hardwood frames hand-sprung and constructed using the finest filling materials, individually specified for each piece. Hand-sewn couture detailing completes each fine upholstery piece. The design aesthetic of the Urban Group collection embodies a contemporary or transitional feel, while the Traditional Collection includes faithful antique reproductions and other furniture suitable for more relaxed living environments.
The John Dickinson Collection features many iconic pieces designed exclusively for Randolph & Hein by the legendary designer, with several pieces now part of the permanent collection at The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
